Conquistador

Life in slow motion
days go by with every inch
you've caused a commotion
her words unravel every stich

I won't leave these ruins, they're the only place I know
I'm crossing your ocean, to dock upon a bloody shore

Can't you hear them knockin'?
they're bangin' on my windows, walls
through these brick coffins
the cold north wind blows

I won't leave this city, it's the only place I know
I'm like a dead motor, stalled down on the road below

It's the struggle runnin' through my brain
coursing patterns across the hills and plains

In a split second
everything around changes
feel the flames that flicker
watch your skin begin to crawl

I won't be consumed in your black and fiery night
I'm crossing your ocean, sittin' in the pale twilight

Meet me in the dead of night
out beneath the spanish moon
you will sleep no more in fright
I'll free yourself from sorrow, gloom

Won't you listen to me
on this the eve of our farewell
I'm crossing your ocean
a bloody conquistador

It's the struggle runnin' through my veins
tracing patterns cross the hills and plains
